Boy I'll tell ya, this week has been a crazy one. Tom Robinson died from trying to escape from his new jail. And now I'm getting a little worried about when Bob Ewell said one down two to go. Its been running through my mind every single day of this week. I'm just worried that Bob Ewell is going to either go for Jem and I or Atticus and Judge Taylor. But besides that Jem is becoming even more weird, sensitive, and lady like by the minute. Why just yesterday me and Jem were sitting on the porch, and I was about to stomp on a rolly-polly and Jem told not to. I asked him why and you know what he said, he said because it didn't harm you or do anything to you that makes you want to kill it. And on even worse note school is starting up once again. So now me and Jem are walking by the Radley place every single school day, I am now in the third grade. One day in the classroom our teacher Mrs.Gates was telling us about Hitler and Germany. She kept on going on about how Hitler is very BAD and just because Hitler basically own Germany that all of Germany is BAD too forever. Then something came up in that discussion that reminded me about the day we went to the court house for the trial. So later on that day after school I asked Jem about it and he got very angry at me and said not to mention it again. So I got sad because I didn't know what I did wrong so I went to Atticus for comfort. Later on though I find out that I w=am supposed too participate in his play that is going on at the school. The play is supposed to resemble this old myth story that happened in Maycomb a long time ago. And I guess that I am supposed to be a ham. So what they did to me is they made this ham costume made of chicken wire and brown material to make a ham costume.
Then before I knew it show night. Jem and I were walking to the pageant when we heard something then all of a sudden Cecil Jacobs jumps out and scares both of us which gives him bragging rights for the whole night. When Jem and I get to the school it's show time but i was so tired when we got there that I fell asleep and it didn't help that it was scorching hot in the costume. So I missed my time to shine and Mrs.Gates says that I ruined her show. I decided that I wanted to leave but I couldn't because I was embarrassed so Jem said that he was willing to stay with me until the crowed leaves so no one will see her. It's still really dark when we start walking home and we couldn't see anything then I remembered that I forgot my shoes so we turn back and see the school lights turn off so we decide to just get them tomorrow morning. When we turn around to start walking we hear something so we just keep on walking but quickly toward the big oak tree. Then before we knew some guy was running toward us like a mad man and knocked both of us down. Then he picked me up and started choking me so Jem got up and knocked him down. Then when I got up I heard a crunching sound that came from Jem. Then somebody else came and saved me and Jem. But while we were running away we heard the person that attacked us yell, then we heard him fall to the ground, then we saw somebody run away from the scene. Later on that night Atticus called the doctor and the sheriff. the doctor came to look at Jem and he said that Jem fine all he has that is really bad is he has a broken arm and a big bump on the head like I do. Then later on that night the sheriff came and said he was just at the big oak tree and said that he saw Bob Ewell laying on the ground dead because someone stabbed him with a kitchen knife right in his stomach.
