Lit circle books/ blogs: My experience with the book I was assigned to “Funny in Farsi” was a bad experience because I didn’t really like the book because it was boring and it didn’t interest me. I was not happy with the book I was assigned to because it wasn’t the book that I wanted to read and even if it wasn’t it just wasn’t a good book in general. But this book did have its benefits because it taught me some facts that were really interesting. Like what I thought was a really good fact was that in the middle east you could only make certain foods because each different food group had a different season which meant that you could only eat that certain type of food if you were in that season. Yes, What I think you should do to make the lc book project better is that once everybody is done reading the book all the students find a song that relates to that book and would basically represent the book or have the option to make there own lyrics to the song to make it represent the book. Well I thought that the blog was a good idea because it was way better and more easier because you wouldn’t have to worry about keeping track of some paper all the time so you can do you blog. But other than all of those good reason why the blog was good it also had a bad part to it because you have to make sure you save and double check because while I was doing my blog I saved once and it didn’t quite save right ten the blog post that I did for the book came out all wrong. But I also found it interesting on how my peers thought about the book because I wanted to see if they pictured the book the same way as I did.
Art/Literature: Well I thought that I made a pretty good choice because I thought it out well and I thought tat I did a pretty good job. The reason why I thought that I did a pretty good job was because when I was done with the second draft of the decision it turned out pretty good. Yes I do feel that there was a connection because in the book I kind of felt that she was stuck in the city and like it but was still missing home and acted like she was middle eastern. So I though that she didn’t know which life to pick so I made a painting showing her really confused on the decision on not know which life she should take. I think that the outcome of my final painting was pretty good because I put a lot of time into it and made sure that it was as perfect that it could be and I tried my best on it. I think what would have enhanced the quality of my final product would be if I was able to by some more fine tip paint brushes because I did have some parts that required a fine tip paint brush. I also thought that the way we did our reflection with art was pretty cool because it was better than writing a report because its more fun and that way you can actually see what the person really thinks of the book.
Interview process with Participant: I thought that the interview process was bad because this didn't personally happen with me but some of the people that were supposed to be interviewed actually didn't even know if they were being interviewed and if not that you just couldn't get a hold of them. I did think that that made it harder because emailing and talking through the phone was actually the same thing because you would have too do the same thing in the end. But I did think that the requirement of meeting our person was a good idea because that way we could get a chance to meet them and examine there personality more and what they do to stay the way they were before they came to America. Well in my first interview one thing that I learned was that she was pretty young when she moved to America. Another thing that I learned in the second interview was that the reason why she moved to America was because her husband was offered a job in New York as a head chef so she went with him. And one more fact that I learned in my third interview is that when my person Sylvie Diot came to America she was offered a job too to work with a famous clothes designer in New York. But diffidently doing this whole interview process did help me with understanding the whole immigration process. I think that this was a good idea because it showed me what some people had to go through and what others had to do, how they felt about the whole process, and just in general what it seemed like to go to another country.
