Quote #1: What I wanted to say was that I wished I could be at home watching the Brady Bunch instead of translating the qualities of various facial moisturizers. (page #: 11, said by Firoozeh the Youngest daughter)

Significance: I think the significance of this quote is she has obviously gotten tired of translating. I think that this relates to the question "What challenges do the characters face upon their arrival?" I think that question relates to my quote because they youngest daughter faces a challenge of translating and even though she knows little English she is the one that does mostly all the translating for the family besides the father.

Personal Connection: I think this relates to me because I to had trouble when I attended school in Mexico for some years. The trouble I had was translating and first of all talking Spanish.

Question: Do you ever fell your parents are just sometimes asking you to much? why?

Quote #2: My mother had her own response to compliments "Americans are easily impressed." (Page #: 11, Said by Firoozeh's mother)

Significance: I think that the significance of this quote is that she thinks that Americans are easily impressed because that other guy can speak 2 different languages or something else like that. I think that this quote relates to question 7. I think it relates to question 7 because if it say's in the quote the bystanders are givving her compliments then that means there obviosly being nice.

Personal Connection: I think I have a personal connection with this quote because when I spoke mostly english at a mexican school the other kids thought it was cool to speak English. And when the other kids where like wow I thought the same thing because the other kinds thought it sounded cool.

Question: Did you ever have a moment where other people were amazed about something you did? Why?

I have a big family, I have 4 brothers. My parents mainly ask me to take out the trash or wash the dishes, clean your room. They barley ask my brothers for much. So yes i do think they ask for too much sometimes.

QUOTE #1: I really like this quote because it showed that she wanted to do the right thing, but instead of doing what she wanted she helped her family. It shows that she thinks of others before herself.

QUESTION #1: Yes, i do feel like that because i am the oldest out of all of my siblings, and a lot of the things my parent's want done the other kids can't do. So, I end up doing a lot of it and it gets tiring.

QUOTE #2: I thought that this quote was funny because it showed that the simplest things that firoozeh and her family did back in her country were seen as amazing things to Americans. It may also be somewhat of a true statement.

Question #2: I am sure i have had a moment where i did something i thought was simple and easy but it amazed someone else; I just can't remember. It probably had to do with something that I didn't think twice about and i did it with out noticing.
